I'm building an SA 85 and the original finish is in pretty good shape.  What have you guys been using to finish the receiver to match that original black enamel?
I've been blasting and parking or blueing my other builds and neither of these finishes comes close to the original Hungarian look.

I have NOT finished an SA 85, but it is a BIT shiny.  You might want to use GunKote or Duracoat in semi-gloss.  My SA 85 is a bit shiny - not gloss, but defintely has a bit of a shine, and very black.

I agree.  I think I'm going to try GunKote in gloss black.  I don't like to use spray-on finishes but, I think its the only way to match the Hunky.
I'll post some pix whens its done.

I seem to remember being told that the old US import rifles were paint over park, but I am not sure if the guns built for domestic use were finished the same.

The finish on the import guns did look good though.
