| Ive figured out that my flash hider retaining pin is jammed back into the sight block. I'd like to fix it some how (probably requires removal). If for some reason it cannot be fixed, would a Romanian front sight post fit? I'm unsure of both barrel diameters. |
| It can't come out without some work - they staked the steel of the sight base over into the plunger bore to lock it in. It's not needed anyway because the short barrel requires a 4.25" extension to be welded on to be legal. Maybe yours is the other kind of AMD with a longer barrel . - there were/are several companies building them. I thought about fixing the one on mine but like I said, it would serve no purpose unless I decide to SBR it and put the original flash hider on. Anyway, look closely at the plunger bore and you'll see where they used some kind of punch and smacked it with a hammer to move metal over the plunger. That metal has to be removed without cutting up the plunger. Or, you could say screw the plunger and do what you have to do to get it loose. Then, you knock out the forward pin of the sight base and the plunger and spring can come out. You would then replace the plunger or reshape the end where it was damaged by the Dremel, put everything back together and enjoy your little spring-loaded plunger. |
