What size rifle case would I need for an AMD-65? There's one from UTG that's 28"x11". From what I have found the AMD's are about 25.5 inches in length when the stock is folded up. Does anyone have any experience with what size case will fit an AMD?

Area 51 Tactical had it for $26.95. Shipping is always only $8 from them no matter how much you order. I have found some good deals on various items from them. I also ordered a 42" gun case from Voodoo Tactical that holds two rifles (for other toys than the AMD). It's the nicest case that I could find for the money that actually is made to hold two rifles separate from each other. I recommend Voodoo for all kinds of tactical products. I got a UPS tracking number in about 4 hours on my order.
I'll update the post regarding the UTG case and how the AMD fits in it when it all arrives. |

This one
It has velcro straps inside to hold the weapon securely as well. It's a 28" soft case. It will hold the rifle with a 20rd mag in it. Pouches are useless though. However there is one large one on the back side that you can put a mag or two in if you wanted to. Not as nice as my bulldog case though with the mag pouches on the front. |
| I use a 30" one from Ace Case. It was $40 but many cuts above the $20 'gun show' type. It's about 30"x13" and it takes every bit of that to carry it folded and with a 30-round mag inserted. This is a heavy duty, well-padded case with 4 mag pockets, 2" heavy web carry sling and handles - the carry handles wrap around the bottom - and a big zipper. I also got a 38" from them for my AMD63 (standard AK length). If you ever run across a US carry bag for the M60 MG spare barrel, it would make a very cool bag for a folded AMD65. These are usually available and would be great to keep a 'truck gun' in. |
