| I just picked up my new SLR 106 FR and tried to insert new Bulgarian 30 rnd clear mags from K VAR. None of the (4) would insert and allow the mag catch to close. The mag that came with it works and 2 of the older Bulgy 30 rnd black mags work fine. I noticed on the front of the new mags where it interfaces with the receiver is a different shape (wider). Anyone else have this problem? I e-mailed K VAR but no response yet. |
| Skipsan- Thanks for the reply. I tried inserting the mags over 30 times, still won't allow the mag catch to clear and latch. They won't seat in deep enough to catch. I did notice that the clear mags were tighter in the receiver. The black mags seat easily and are tight when latched. I will try to call K VAR on monday. |
| K VARs response was to send the clear mags in and they would replace them with black bulgarian mags when they are again available. So I decided to make them fit. A few strokes with a flat file was all it took. The locking lug on the back of the mag were it engages the mag catch was too thick, not allowing the mag catch to close. They work fine now. |

Glad to hear your problems worked out. I bought two more K-Var 30rd, clear, waffle mags today and they popped right in with no resistance--better fit than the first two. Took the original mags into the retailer for comparison to make sure I was getting the same thing. I paid a couple of bucks more each, than I would ordering them direct, but the assurance of a fit was worth it. This retailer now is selling( or at least tagging) the -106 rifle for $919. |
