What sort of groups should I expect for a milled SAM-7 at 100 yards?

I have a SA M-7 Carbine and I can get 2" to 4" five shot groups with it at 100 yrds.

That is the same that I get with my Bushmaster M-4 AR-15.

I have no idea what it is capable of with a scope since mine has no side mount.

SAM7sf, 2.5" semi-repeatable best, rested 5 at 100.

My Colt x39 upper was 2"

Those are some pretty good groups... I can get all rounds onto a paper plate at 100 yards with no problem.

The SA-M7 is a good AK.  The ammo will play a bigger role than the gun.  Some ammo will open the groups up a bit.  I am used to using wolf over the last couple yrs but when I shoot S&B I get amazed how tight the group gets.  The S&B will make a group about 1/2 that of Wolf with my SA-M7.

You're saying 2.5 inch groups at 100 yards, with some flyers that aren't within that group? I got the recently.

I also wanted to ask. After you guys sighted in your AK, did your front sight "pin" stick out more on one side than the other? I know this is nothing to be concerned about, but I'm just curious. Mine sticks out a little more on the right side.

I can nail an 8 inch steel plate at 1oo yrds freehanded with open sights every time with my SAM 7 A1-R.  I've never put a scope on it to see what it can really do but with a bench on paper I was getting around 3 inches with open sights and Wolf ammo. I'd be interested if anyone has ever scoped one and ran match ammo through it.  I would guess you could probably get 1.5 inch groups.  It is definately plenty accurate for an AK.

Buy an arsenal, you won't be disappointed.
