So I've been eyeing an SLR101 for awhile on atlantic firearms, I dont have the money for it yet but had some questions about the muzzle brake.  Is is threaded and does it work well?  to me it looks kinda ugly and I could see replacing one with a slant brake or something, but if it works well I could learn to love it.  function over form for all my guns.
thanks for  any help

The brakes on the SLR-101's and the post ban SA-M7's are actually very, very effective and they are also more than a half-way decent flash suppressor.

I've thougth about converting my SA-M7S to "no-ban" configuration, but it shoots so well and the muzzle brake works so well, I said screw it and I'm keeping it as is.

thanks for the info, if it works I know I would end up liking it and probably find the MB pleasing to the eye after a while.  I used to think sks's were so damn ugly, now that i have one i think they look awesome.

Yes, that muzzle break is very good. The other day that i went to the range my friend brought his Romanian with no muzzle break on it. I was astonished on how big the difference was!
