Guys,

I am on the fence on getting an SLR 106.  I have done some reading and see that it is a good rifle.  The one I am eyeballing is the Tan side folder version.

I know that mags are expensive and the price point, an AR would serve it's purpose better.

Still I like the design and am interested in it.  I have an AK in 7.62 and 5.45 but maybe I can round myself out with the SLR 106.

What are your experiences with this rifle?  I have seen a lot of mixed views.

Thanks,
Max

I have an slr-106fr in black and absolutely love it. I've not tried them personally, but i guess beryl mags work in them and are a little cheaper at $25. I personally own only circle 10 mags. But it will eat anything you feed, whether its tula, silver bear, wolf, xm193, 855 or 856. Ive shot handloads from 50 thru 80 grain bullets and they all work. Ive had no issues with mine after 1500 rounds. It is an excellent gun. Groups decently for an ak as well.

My favorite rifle for sure.   My "F" model has 8,000 rounds through it with one fail to feed.  I've put everything from brown and silver bear, wolf, AE223, 193 and 855, remington, etc. through it with no hiccups other than that one FTF.

99.9% of what I have shot has been with 4 mags.   3 black circle 10's and one surplus beryl.   Two of the circle 10's have about 6500 rounds between them.

not that this means anything, but, I haven't picked up my AR since I started shooting the 106.  I just have more fun with it.

My SLR106 is my favorite rifle. I sold off my last AR to purchase the 106 and haven't looked back.

The mixed reviews of the SLR106 are from before they fixed the feed ramp. They run just as well as their 5.45 and 7.62 counterparts since the fix.
For instance, my SLR106 has had the same amount of malfunctions as my SGL21, none.
