I just moved to Tucson and learned that Piece of History Firearms is located 5 minutes from my work, so last week I paid Mario a visit just to see what kind of work he did. To make a long story short I walked out of there having ordered a Bulgarian Ak74 build on an old parts kit he had with an original barrel and all matching serial numbers. I went and picked it up today and I cant wait to go shoot this puppy! Its not a looker because I just wanted a good shooter that I didn't have to worry about getting dinged and scratched, but Mario did a great job on it and he is extremely knowledgeable. If you need any custom AK work he is the man!
The only thing I would like to do with it is strip the painted stock and refinish it. Any one have any good tips for that? Also is there any way to tell what year it was manufactured? Thanks |

What? No pics? The ones that aren't the best looking are sometimes the best looking lol. As far as your questions, with your recent purchase and easy access to him, I would ask Mario, he probably more knowledgeable on AKs than 99% of us on here. Could always try soaking the stock in citristrip or mineral spirits but I'd still ask him first |

I put up a quick cell phone pic.

| You're crazy, that looks great. Leave it alone. The painted stock is very authentic to Bulgarian 74s, there were quite a few painted just like that with that same color. I'd bet Mario used real Bulgarian AK74 furniture on it. That IMHO is a correct clone/build of an AK74 from what I can see |

The US parts are the reciever, trigger group and grip. |
