I got an Interamrs AK-74 built on Bulgarian kit last weekend. It has a slight cant in the front sight, it doesnt hurt sight acqusition but it's noticable with careflul look. Shot if for the first time today and at 50 yards it hits about 3 inches to the left and 3 inches high. I plan on it being a beater plinker/truck gun and not an accuracy rifle plus my main local range is only 50 yards, so I will probably ajust the sight and keep it. The other side of me tells me to return in though, but I really like it otherwise and don't want to. How much do I need to adjust my sight to fix that? I won't get my sight adjuster until next week, so I can't test it right now. What do ya'll think I should do?

I would contact the place you bought it from and tell them about it. If it were me I would return it or send it somewhere to get it fixed. However, I would not want to pay our of pocket for someone else's mistake.

Thanks...anyone else...any other ideas? How much of an adjustment will it take to correct 3 inches at 50 yards?

I don't think 3" off at 50 yards is a bad thing, if your front sight post is currently centered in the slightly canted sight.

1. Is this 3" with the post already moved significantly off center by the factory?

2. And on the 3" high- what is your rear sight set at height wise?  That's easily adjustable.

I've had new in box Bushmaster uppers that shot well over a foot to the left or right at 100 yards, which I returned for reindexing of the barrel.  I'd only return the gun if you get it zeroed and the front sight is more than 50% of the way to the left after correcting.

No, the post is right around the center, so I guess it's not a big deal.

My rear sight is set all the way back (i.e. original "zero meters" position), so it definately shouldn't shoot high. I'll post a picture of my sight soon...
