I had a problem the other day with my SSR 85C. I've fed about a thousand rounds through it in the last couple of weeks and am having lots of feeding issues. About once every hundred rounds. The first handful I attributed to cheap steel mags or something, but the problems still keep happening. I have a jam the other day that was bad and required a cleaning rod and a multitool to fix it. A unfired round failed to load into the chamber, only about half way and slightly to the right towards the ejection port. And then it was kept in place by a second unfired round which was jammed underneath the first. Racking the slide would not clear the jam. Solutions? OK , has the rifle been cleaned and LUBED properly ? Take that out of the equation. They do need cleaned from time to time. It's man made and can break and fail. Next is what type mag are you using. It can be a mag issue. Put a piece of tape or something on the suspect mag... Got to isolate the problem. Check your bullet guide to make sure it's not loose. If your model has the riveted guide. Hope this Helps, WarDawg |

Are you using more than one mag during shooting? Sounds mag related to me... A good habit to get into is numbering your mags to identify the ones that may be having issues. But as Wardog mentioned - check it out for proper cleaning and lubing.. This happened with about 4 different mags out of a group of ten. Some Chinese, some East German, I think. I've marked the ones that were giving me trouble. |

weird....
I would def check that bullet guide for looseness - or improper fit. Ar you the orig owner? Any possibility of getting some warranty work done - Are you shooting Hollowpoints/ Soft points or FMJ? The type of round may be a culprit too.. Finding a solution to any problem is a process of elimination |

Wow - I never thought I would hear the word "jamming" with respect to a 7.62x39mm AKM. I've heard plenty about 5.56mm jammomatics, but, this is a first for a 7.62 Sakic #19

| I had a mag that was too narrow at the feed end. It would catch the lip of the casing and would not allow the round to pass. For some reason I always ended up using the mag with a SSR. I inspected the mag and found the problem. Now I am in the process of beating the mag into submission. I dont wear the mag angle out but have you tried the possible trouble makers out on another AK? |
