First off the stickied thread on the top didnt asnwer my question here

Now, i want to get rid of the thumbhole stock like the rest of the worlds owners who have one of these. Now i understand i need 4-5 US made parts in order to fall under 922.  Now which parts are already US made? If i get rid if the stock and replace it with a US MADE stock and pistol grip, what else do i need to do? Now if i installed a NON US MADE stock and pistol grip, what would i need to replace. Sorry for another one of these topics but its nerve racking to shoot with this thumbhole stock :(

You started four of your seven sentences with the word "now."

Go here and scroll down to the 922(r) section:

you only need 5 US parts since you have a milled receiver.

Throw a Red Star or Tapco trigger group in it and you have 3. Use US made furniture and you are good to go. Use foreign furniture and you need 2 more US made pieces. I suggest a US gas piston and slant brake. If you dont want to remove the factory brake just use magazines with a US follower and floor plate and you are set.

No, you need 5 total us pieces. The stock, grip and forearm only count as 3. you need 2 more. A tapco trigger group will be both an improvement and cover your compliance bases. If you dont want to fool with the gun itself then buy a couple US made floor plates and followers and use them. The only problem with this is you have to make sure you never use a chi-com mag or you will be in deep shite if you get caught.

my bad i meant to add the trigger group in that last post. I never messed with an AK trigger though before, how much more difficult (if any) is it compared to an AR. I saw a tutorial on it once and it seemed moderate

What is the difference of a milled receiver vs. a stamped one when it comes to  the US part count ? ....sorry for the milled ak newbie question.

It is possible to use in a slr-95 a threaded Front sight base with a 24mmx1.5 compensator?

As far as parts count goes, there's no difference between a stamped or milled receiver.

You can install a threaded front sight assembly on the SLR "IF" you can find one that's compatible with the SLR barrel.

Another option is to thread the barrel with the standard Russian 14X1 LEFT hand thread, then use an adapter to adapt the 14X1 left hand to the 24X1.5 RIGHT hand thread.

Best place to shop for sight assemblies, brakes and adapters is K-Var:

www.k-var.com/shop/

You'll need to carefully measure your SLR barrel under the sight block and find out the inner measurement of any replacement you want to buy to insure they are within spec with each other.

I decided im just going to replace the the furniture, mag followers and floor plates on my mags since i use the same mags and im very limited with what mags i can use anyway here in NJ

But let me get this straight. What makes this thing legal pre-modification with all original parts from when i bought it? Does that mean if its modified from its original assembly that you THEN need to put those US Parts in? This is the only part i dont understand.

So that mean that the bulgarian threaded  FS on K-var will not fit my SLR-95?

Thanks for the info ,AK 's are so different than AR.s

there is a difference between stamped and milled because milled receivers dont have a trunion, therefore there are less pieces to begin with.
