| Thanks for the replies. The internals are nice and clean as is the barrel. It looks like whomever owned it previously didnt shoot it a lot. I havent had a chance to fire it yet, so Ill report back when I do. Oddly enough, when I picked it up today from the auction house, it now has a cleaning rod. |
| A highly underrated AK variant, except by those who know how good they really are. You did really well on the price too; great score. I'd have to put an original wood stock set on there though, and meet the US parts requirement with a fire control group instead. |
That's the beauty of the Type III AK-47, you can use any T3 furniture you'd like. Your receiver is Bulgarian, but you don't need to stick to that country if you don't want to. Hungarian, Bulgarian, Soviet, Polish, probably even Chinese will fit just fine. The Polish stuff is really nice quality, and can still be found with some regularity. Just FYI: If you find a brand new (undrilled for screws) butt stock, it will need slight fitting of the front stock tenon, where it fits into the receiver. |
| Thats a nice looking stock. So if these guns originally came with the original stock, I should be 922 complaint if I put a foreign stock back on the gun? I havent even checked out the wood on my gun to confirm its a US made replacement. Now Ill have to find some nice old T3 AK wood. |
