I got an AMD 65 the other day and took it out shooting for the first time. As far as I know, it's "new" from century. Anyway, I was getting weak ejection and some fail-to-ejects, most likely due to the weak ejecting. My other AK throws the brass like 10+ feet. The AMD-65 was ejecting so weak that they were landing on the bench I was shooting from. What can I do to fix this? |
| maybe the ejector plate needs to be filed down a bit more(the thing on the left inside the receiver), the smaller it is, the farther it will eject the empty case. compare the 2 ak's ejector plates to see if they are the same size, measure from left to right, i bet the amd65 has a bigger ejector rail, so just file about 1/8" off. |

Got the rifle back today, 3 weeks to the day from when they received it. Not bad turn around time, IMO. I'll give Century props for that. I broke down the rifle and inspected the internals...I sent it to them freshly cleaned, and could tell they fired some rounds through the tube to test (obviously)...the only thing I could tell that was different was it looked like my bolt had the black finish polished off of it. It fits into the BC much easier now. Before, it was tight, and I attributed that to being "new" or "newer" internally than my other AK. So we'll see if that fixes it. |
