I bought a new Maadi ARM AK and took it to the range the other day.

All my shots were left of center of the target, so I used my AK sight tool to adjust the front sight.

Slowly, my shot groups were starting to come over to the right.

But I eventually maxed out the ammount of adjusting to the front sight.

It was flush all the way left and my groups are still way too far left of center.

Now what???  here
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your front sight is canted to the right.  Look close at the front sight and see if it’s leaning to the right.  This is fairly common and there is a fix.  Sorry, I don't know the procedure but someone will.

Thanks for the info guys.

I was looking at my rifle and I can't tell if it's Canted, unless it is so slight.

In the link for identifying Cant, it says that Century will usually fix this problem for free.

Is this true???

There is no way I would be able to perform that fix myself without mucking the whole thing up and having to have a smith clean up my mess.

So I'm really short on option here.

If the rifle is new I'd contact whom ever you bought it from and see if they will handle the repair through Century.  If not, I'd contact Century direct and get it fixed.

NY1911guy,

Hey, thanx for the replies.

Well I bought the rifle about 3 months ago from a Pawn Broker in Ohio, through Gun Broker's site.  So it is highly unlikely that I'd be able to have the seller pay for fixing it.

I guess my best bet is to call Century and see what they say.

This really sucks.  I already spent a good dime on getting her hooked up the way I wanted her and now she won't perform.  And I gotta spend more time and money.

Sorry, just frustrated...

Here's a pic of the rifle.

Century is not going to fix it for you as you bought it used and they haven't imported them for years.

I'm sorry to hijack this thread -- but does anyone on this board know of a reputable gunsmith that we can send our rifle(s) to to correct the cant?

Thanks.

I would look into buying a windage adjustable rear sight or mounting some optics.
