I took my rifle (an AK103 clone, Saiga conversion) to the range today and experienced a problem for the first time.  After inserting a 20 round magazine, I would pull back on the charging handle to chamber a round and it would not fully seat the round.  The bullet would get jammed entering the chamber at a 45 degree angle, dimpling the shell.  This happened five times before I changed magazines and the problem ceased.  Is this the result of a weak magazine spring?  I'm hoping it's that simple.  When the magazine did load, it operated fine while shooting.

Did you have any problems before this incident?

Probably either a weak spring or bent feed lips on the mag.

If all other mags work just chuck that one.

Yes, this was the first time this happened.  Is it worthwhile to replace the spring or just chuck it as you suggest?

"entering the chamber at a 45 degree angle"

OK - time to BE the gun.  Remove the spring & carrier, insert a GOODmag with ONE bullet in it.

Now - if you do not have action proving dumies?  REMOVE the Firing pin from your bolt.

Use just the bolt - ride it forward with your thumb slowly, and watch how the bolt strips the round from the mag.... see how the forward portion of the mag lips angle the bullet RIGHT toward the chamber mouth by "shoving" the bullet sholder over a bit...

Now try this with your suspect mag.  I'm guessing that the forward portion of the mag lip is not pushing your rounds over quite right.  Once you see how this works?  You can take a simple pair of needle nose pliers, SLIGHTLY bend that forward Mag lip, and WATCH the bolt push your round right into the center of the chamber....
