I have a WASR-10 in 7.62x39, which has had about 2,000 rounds through it and worked wonderfully.  I have a Red Star Arms "Bumper Trigger" installed.

The problem: The bolt is stuck in the forward position.  It "clinks" when jiggled and has no visible rust.  The bolt carrier is definately on the tracks and the firing pin is the forward position.  Pulling the bolt does nothing.  I have never tried mechanical means, i.e. a hammer, to open the bolt, but pulling does nothing.  I have cleaned it with CLP and put pressure on the bolt with a rod while trying to pull the bolt out.  The bolt itself appears to be stuck in a groove where it meets the forward position (Star Chamber on an AR, don't know the AK term).

The situation: The rifle was oiled and kept in a soft case in a temp controled storage enviroment  (I know, I bad).  The rifle worked one day and a month later it was stuck.  It came unstuck once on its own (by my friends account), but stuck again soon thereafter without firing.

I would rather not strip the rivets out to unstick this as I am moving soon.  Please help.

Get a rubber mallet and hammer it open.

I am not too excited about pounding the charging handle.  Maybe a dowling rod down the barrel? I understand that "AK = durable", but will this destroy the bolt?

I have doubted and I am humbled.  After soaking the bi**h in some CLP and adding a bit of love via soft mallet the bolt opened.  Then I discovered some slight wear on the bolt itself, which appears to have caused the jam and resolved the problem
