When I was filing out my single stack mag well, I had to file the tabs inside the receiver down to fit the magazine in. I thought I was on the base of one of the tabs, but I was on the receiver. I was using a dremel, my friends brought his over the other day and I thought I should cut a little more off to make it a wee bit looser. I used a cutting plate, and dremeled probably a quarter of the way through the receiver (not all the way through!) From the outside, you could never tell. It is literally right inside the mag well. The rifle functions great, but I only put a couple rounds through it. My question is, will this thinner receiver section crack over lots of use? or should I not worry? Should I throw some JB Weld over the small area?

I'd build it up with a mig then file it down..

Well I have no experience or tools for welding. I looked back at it, I cannot actually see and indent where it was "filed", it only looks like i polished some paint off, so I guess I shouldn't worry. And if it were to crack, I am assuming it would crack at the safety notch. That notch is cut half way through the receiver so I hope I will be alright. But would a spot of JB Weld help the polished part I did or should I not worry?

If it is only some paint knocked off or even through 25%,  I wouldn't worry about it as point of weakness.  Even it it was all the way through I bet it would keep on going.

Now I know it can be hard to quit thinking about things like scratches or any imprefection, espically on a new or previously prestine gun.  I've struggled with things like that before.  But worrying about it as a point of future failure is counter productive.  She'll be fine.....

And I don't think JB would make a bit of difference structurally.   You can either leave it or MIG weld it like mentioned.  But if it's not really that bad and is on the inside then just leave it alone.  You bring up a good point with milled/cut out slector diviot, all the more reason to leave it.  Welding is probobly more trouble than it's worth.

That' is exactly what I needed to hear, thank you! Sometimes I forget that it's still an AK variant, tough as nails. I'll definitely stop worrying about it, it really is counterproductive.

It's the silver line between the two slabs of metal there, I circled it.

My vote is still to leave it.  It doesnt really look like very much is any of the receiver itself was sacrificed. It might look a little ulgy on the inside but it's what's on the outside that counts right. .  As long as the mags are fitting fine and everything feeds and ejects then why mess with it.  It's right next to the reinforcement plate anyway.  Sorry, but a good example of why you don't want to stick a dremel to a gun, hand files and stones are the way to go.  Slow and steady......  Espically when theres only a little to take off.  No big deal though, stuff happens.

Welding would be way more trouble than it's worth.  You would probobly end up welding the plate to the rail and maybe not even filling the cut.  You definately don't want to blow through either.  Not to mention then you have to worry about what the heat did to your heat treat on the receiver.  Plus then there would be more dremeling to be done.  Don't get me wrong it could be done.

Leave it..... But clean out thoes metal shavings before your lube turns into lapping compound.

Yeah I do think I will just quit worrying and leave it alone. The mags fit very snug and it cycles great, so no worries. And this is what it looks like from the outside, before painting her up. Not too bad I don't think.

Don't worry about it until it cracks then you can do something about it.

That scratch won't hurt a thing.....

However, after seeing your Dremel work, I wonder if you didn't use to work for Century.....

Hahaha that one really made me laugh! Yeah I suck with a dremel! Actually it was an electric screw gun with a dremel bit in it haha. Good thing I didn't use that to cut the mag well shape, it would be a wreck!
