My AK trigger is not resetting during live fire. Pull the trigger the weapon fires, release the trigger but the trigger stays down does not reset. The trigger is a double hook G2 and it looks fine. What is maddening is that the weapon only does it when firing, when I clean and cycle the weapon and dry fire it it never does it. I have a feeling it might be the hammer spring and have ordered one just in case.

Any thoughts or help would be great.

Post some pics, but I would check the disconnector and spring, hammer spring, and if you didn't grind the back of the hammer I'd try switching hammers just for giggles to see if it's not a out of spec hammer, also on one build the grip screw was keeping the disconector from working propely

Ensure both legs of the hammer spring are on top of the trigger.  Looks like they are, though hard to tell on right side one.
Check for binding between trigger and receiver opening.
Especially check for binding of Pistol Grip on trigger.  This is not an uncommon problem, but easily fixable.

Will do.
What is maddening is that it tends to do it while firing after about a magazine or two with no problems, then it starts to not reset.
I clean it and then it fine for a couple of mags then it acts up.
Can a hammer spring get worn so it works fine for while then after constant use start to fail?
I have a new one on order and will swap it out, might order a new G2 trigger kit.

have you checked the disconnector to make sure the spring isn't full of cosmo or any other crud?

+1 to what Nictra said.

alo, i had this SAME problem with the same trigger TG2 DH on my S12.

what was happening was the disonnector was getting hung up on the hammer, so when the round was fired/ejected, the trigger didnt reset. By  (a) racking bolt and chambering a round would solve the problem or (b) pushing the trigger forward with my index finger would reset the trigger.

I filed surface on the disconnector to take out a few burrs. solved the problem.

good luck

Well I took the old FCG and hammer spring out. The spring compaired to the new one seemed not as tight. Cleaned up everything, dropped in the the new FCG (Tapco G2) put it back together (luv those zipties!) and did a function test, it seems good to go. Will sneak off for an early range session tomorrow morning (its getting into triple digit heat again) and test it out. Will report on situation.
Thanks for all the input and help.
Dave.

Success!!!

Went out to BRPC in the AM and put four magazines (120 rounds) without a single problem!

Thanks everyone for the advice.
