I have had this WASR
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z223/jakeh777/121.jpg
for about a year.

When you shoot it, the buttstock hits you in the face. I have had various shooters fire it, all have the same problem. If you have any sort of cheekweld to get a good sight picture, it hits your cheek. The hand guards also wobble.

So I'm guessing I need new AK furniture. I don't want to spend too much on it though as its just a beater ak. Reccomendations? I took the gun completely apart and can't find any other reason why these problems would occur.

Are you and your shooting buddies familiar with the concept of placing your cheek tight against the stock (called the cheek weld)?
Are you familiar with the concept of holding the stock tight against your shoulder?
There's nothing wrong with the buttstock. It's just like every other AKM buttstock ever made.

Yes I have good form for the most part, tight on the shoulder and cheek firm against the stock.

some may disagree with me...switch the slant out with a muzzle nut and see how it shoots...I had a Yugo that would jump like that when my friends shot it, they all complained that it would slap them in their face
although I never experienced it the muzzle nut seemed to fix the problem.
The slant brake is designed to keep the rifle from rising up and to the right during full auto fire, so during semi fire it pushes the barrel down to the left and snaps back to it's original position.

remember this is just my 2cents...I posted this before and started a BS throwing contest!

Have you ever fired a centerfire rifle larger than .22 caliber (other than the one your having problems with)?

let your nose touch the dust cover button, and hunch over forward while shooting. I dont think your holding it correctly

I guess you could get a rubber buffer and try that

You may be right. I had my head held back right on/right behind the decline in the stock.

Dude that furniture with look great if it was refinished.

ALso my buddy claims this exact same issue with his slant break.
He took it off and all is well now.
