I just got a WASR 10.  The trigger pin walks out after dry firing a few rounds.

Is there something I can do?  How is the spring that goes around the selector supposed to go in?  It doesn't seem to catch the groove on the trigger pin.  It is on top of the trigger pin; maybe it should be under?

I'm thinking of just getting the retainer plate.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

the wire you are talking about isn't in correctly. there is a guide some place that tells you the correct way to put it in...i lost all my links when my pc crashed, but if you google the problem it should come up. it may even be stickied somewhere. I recommend replacing it with a shepards crook.
BE FOREWARNED: The trigger pin walking CAN cause FA/Burst fire.

Do you have a retainer that's shaped like an"L"?
If so the end of the long leg fits in the groove of the hammer pin on the underside. The retainer sits in the groove on top of the trigger pin. The end of the safety goes through the hole on the end of the short leg before it's inserted in the hole in the receiver.

Yes the "L."  I finally got it between your post and a video on youtube.  I had it installed wrong.  The way that it goes is the way I tried first, but just couldn't get it to line up.  So I put it in the the other way.  The person who first installed it was either Heman or just knew what they were doing.   Thanks.

My AK74 does the same thing.. actually went full auto on me @ the range this past weekend.
Could you post the video you're referring to?
Not trying to thread hi-jack, just piggy backing on the same problem you're having & could use some help myself.

Just saw this.

Here is the video I used:

I got the spring back in, but I bought the Tapco retaining plate. Both will work fine, but I feel better with the plate.

I had the same problem, and mine was also going full auto. I got a shepherd's crook replacement from Blackjack Buffer's and that was the end of that.
