[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Scope mount removal

Is there any way to remove the factory scope mount from the left side of the receiver? AK in question is a WASR10. I would never mount a scope from that part of the gun, and it doesn't do anything but collect dust and waste space and weight, I'd like to get it off the gun.

Drill out the rivets and replace them with new ones.

thought about doing it with mine. but you will have a couple of good size holes in the side of the reciever that might look silly. and there really is no good way of covering them up nicely that i have found. so i just let it be.
