I am planning on ordering a new AK from atlantic firearms in a few weeks. I am new to ak's and only own a WASR. My next ak will either be a Vector with the classic stock or the underfolder. The underfolder cost $120 more than the classic. Is their a difference in the guns besides the stocks? Is the underfolder worth the extra money? Which one would you buy? The classic is $499 and the underfolder is $619.

Get the underfolder and a tennis racket bag.

the underfolders are a bit more uncomfortable to shoot due to lack of cheekweld ability, but they have the cool factor. both would be a good addition. no difference in guns sans stock and price.

Since you have already have a fixed stock AK, you could go with the Underfolder. I myself like the fixed stocked AK's a little more than the underfolders

I didn't like my underfolder the first time I shot it.  I got a stock pad for it and I like it better than shooting a fixed stock now.

Plus you have the option of making it compact.

Where did you get that stock pad toyotaman?  I can only fire about ten shots before I start crying like a woman.  I just googled "ak underfolder cheek pad" but got nothing useful.  Not to hijack, so I will answer the OP by saying that while you can get a good cheek weld with a UF, firing a lot of rounds through it really hurts the old cheekbone.

Heres 2 recoil pads that work with any AK...
FSE recoil pad
RPB recoil pad
Another thing you can do to make it more comfortable to shoot an underfolder is to wrap the part of the stock where you rest your cheek with some paracord.

Thanks.  I'll try the paracord trick.
