Tried the SEARCH function, posted in the Russian Forum, no luck.
I'll try it here-  What seems to be the consensus on Krebs AKs?

Krebs is the top of the line AK, the alpha dog of the bunch.  It does not get any better and you will pay for it.  Some folks appreciate quality.

I am waiting for you to ask if you got a good deal spending $300 for one at a pawn shop

Marc Krebs is considered a GOD in the AK world....the guy really knows his stuff, his builds are not just good....they are probably the BEST out there...his rifles are top end to the max

Ditto the comments above!  I have one of his AK-103k carbines (built on a Saiga receiver) and the fit, finish, function and accuracy are truly outstanding.  With a BP02 side rail mount and a Comp 3 Aimpoint, the rifle is easy to get on target and the smooth trigger pull and AK74 style compensator helps keep it there.  I have used it in club tactical rifle matches and faired well against the lower-recoiling ARs, especially on long distance steel which fall with authority when even marginally hit with the 7.62X39. My rifle will easily hold 2.5 MOA all day long with Brown Bear FMJ ammo.  With the optic mounted, the rifle weighs in at 8 pounds, 5 ounces without magazine or bipod.

I started off using the "Russian Aimpoint" shown in the top photo, but could never get even close to a cheek weld with the "straight up" side mounting position.  The second photo shows the current set-up with the BP02 mount/Comp 3, which is IMO a far better arrangement.  The slight offset to the right actually helps, especially from the prone position. The side rail mount goes on and off easily allowing quick access to the irons and holds zero. I also installed a stud for mounting my Harris bipod.  From the prone position with 20 round Hungarian mags to keep the rifle low, the 100 yard steel falls in a hurry!

Nope, did not find one in a pawnshop. :)
Have a #88 Speed Load Tactical rifle on loan, looks good, but have not had a chance to shoot it yet, scheduled for week after next.
I'm suspecting I'll probably keep it, was just wondering how Krebs is regarded here. Have not seen any mention.
That scope offset looks awkward, but apparently it works for you. Interesting.
Thanks, guys.

In the 90's he used to make IPSC guns.

He was well liked, although not the best.  Building AK's has GOT to be a helluva lot easier than open race guns.

His .38 super guns had a unique slide-lightening cut in the back that was kindof his trademark.

I met him once in 1994(?) at the Area 5 championship in Ohio.  He was a nice guy.

It's actually not bad at all, and MUCH better than the way the Russian optic is positioned;

Much!
Does it get awkward in requiring so much of a head cant?

Since I'm right eye dominant, it was always difficult using my left eye with both eyes open. But then again, I'm blind in one eye and can't see out of the other!

BTW, the optic itself is quite nice.

Marc has to be the friendliest gunsmith I've ever met. I go up to his shop every so often, hangout, pick his brain, and watch him work.

All his guns have a lifetime warranty.

OK, so if it shoots, looks like it'll stay.
I do like the safety & mag guide. I sometimes bobble a bit on inserting a mag, with the guide it slips right in. Good trigger on this one.
Thanks.

Mark Krebs is a class act guy & the same goes for his products. I have one of his quad rails on my arsenal 101 & it is first rate. I met him Friday at the range I frequent when I overheard him say "pull out that MG42 " My ears pricked up and my curiosity got the best of me. When I walked over I noticed an excelent example of an AK. I asked "is that a krebs" and was then told "that man over there is Marc Krebs". The man let myself & my friend shoot the crap out of the MG42, PKM & several examples of his KTR03 full auto. One of the best days of my life!!!
