| details please, reliable?, fit and finish, etc |

I have handled one in person and the fit and finish seem very nice. If you are referring to the 'full stack' ones just be aware that they milled out the magwell on a single stack (good quality work) but that the magwell was not refinished. That being said, mags locked up positively with no slop, and if I had the cash or they came down in price to about $750 fora double stack I would snatch one up myself. Also, the one I handled had poly furniture (look very nice and high quality- probably machined black delrin) and the VZ58 folder, which locks up nice and tight with no slop. If you have the $$$ and want one I do not think you would be disappointed. Also, the VZ58's are cool because they have a last shot bolt hold-open, and thw brass ejects up and to the left- the topcover is only on the rear half of the gun, the bolt istelf keeps grime and dirt out when closed, and the area is fully open when carrier is back meaning no casings getting jammed in there and easy to inspect the chamber. |

I have one, they are readily aviable and cheap in Canada. I love mine very much, shoots well, aftermarket parts are getting aviable everywhere, and we can customize it seriously. It's very light, compact and accurate. The vz 58 has a chromed line barrel, unlike the vz858 (longer barrel) with regular barrel. The surplus grips and stock are reddish presswood of some sort, very ugly. I installed a folding stock on mine and i'm on the way of getting some new stock n grips. It has a tripod mount which is a nice option to have. It lacks scope mounting but aftermarket are providing it. |
