i bought an slr 95, and i want to switch the thumbhole stock for an ace folder.
my question is, i want to keep my ultimak mount and lower handguard, and still use foreign mags.

if i trade out the fcg, gas piston and the rear stock, and had the bulgarian brake switched for an american one, would i have enough compliance parts?

I belive you only need 6 US parts to satisfy 922r, so I belive the answer is yes.

If you remove the thumhols stock, you'd be replacing it with a US stock (1) and US pistol grip (2). The FCG counts as (3,4,5).  The lower handguard would be (6). In fact the Ultimak upper may even count as (7). But you could always throw on a US made muzzle device too.

Oh yeah, and the US made gas piston you want to use counts as (1) too.

FCG, piston, buttstock and brake = 6 parts.   You're legal.

Actually since the SLR is a milled receiver, you only need 5 US parts, so you can skip one of them if you want.  Milled receivers have fewer parts than stamped receivers since the front trunnion is built in.

BTW, the Ultimak alone is not a US compliant part unless you also replace the lower handguard with a US-made part.  The handguards are considered "one part" per 922(r).  To be legal, you have to replace both upper and lower parts.

US pistol grip, buttstock and 3 piece TAPCO G2 double hook fire contol group and you are good to go with the milled receiver.  Don't have to bother with the gas piston.
