I have to AK's one i redid the finish and the other i want to install a side folder.  What is the easiest one to install?  I do not want a cheap one.  I want one that will be solid, locks with unlocks easily.   I do not want the one that looks like a piece of bent wire.  All your input would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks,,,,

You've ruled out the TAPCO and the Romanian/E.German.

The ACE w/standard receiver adapter, K-VAR AK-BFS and Robinson Armament Type 2 (if it ever becomes available) would all fit the bill, as they are direct replacements for the standard fixed stock. The ACE and K-VAR both use an extended receiver block to which the folding mechanism attaches. This creates some aesthetic issues, but is necessary for a "drop-in" application.

The next level would be the ACE w/internal receiver adapter or the Robinson Type 1; both require removing the rear tang, but result in a much cleaner and more "correct" appearance.

Final level would be to have an AKS-74 triangle or solid sidefolder installed. Since these require major modifications to the receiver, it is a task best left to a qualified AK-smith.

Thank you.
Since the wood is very dry and i cant get it out without most likely destroying it, i just wanted something very simple to install.  Really how hard can they be to install?  I just don't want to have to deal with a bunch of problems.  If TAPCO is the next best way to go, please let me know, thanks for your time.

The Romanian/E.German wire style and the ACE standard adapter are actually the easiest, as they just screw in place of the fixed stock. The TAPCO is a little harder since you have to drill new holes stock, but they provide the drill bit and screws so no big deal. The TAPCO stock is longer, more comfortable on the cheek and less expensive but also WAY less durable than the wire type.
