Local dealer is selling a SA M7 for $865.  This is the milled receiver no ban and a nice looking gun.  He has the identical absolutely same thing with a underfolder and wants $1,300 for it.  My question is do they get that much more for the underfolder normally or has he just inflatged his price.  griff

Since you say the underfolder is exactly the same I'm assuming it has synthetic furniture?  If so then that is too high.

I have that underfolder and paid $1000 shipped and felt that it was a really good deal.  You know that since you are in MI you will need a pistol permit for it, right?  Mind if I ask what dealer this is at?

Arsenal Inc. is currently NOT PRODUCING Milled AKs of any kind.

Existing store stock will therefore be subject to the law of Supply and Demand.

Since the Underfolders likely had the lower production numbers , expect to see
prices Climb.

I agree with Chris-$1300 is a bit much. Look around the EE or Gunbroker, sure you can find a better deal. Even with supply and demand, $1300 is too much for that weapon.

Just my $.02...

Hey Firefly is it possible to put a underfolder on the SA 7m, I see them for sale in gun digest, shotgun news and Centerfires catalog.  I have seen them for $60 to $70 I think if that can be done it would certainly be the cheaper way to go.

I'm no gunsmith but I think that by the time you paid a professional smith to install it you might as well just get the SAS M7 to begin with.  I don't think it would save you much, if anything.  Then it will be factory built and have a warranty.

Thanks Chris I am not that familiar with AKs.  I know that folding stocks can be put on lots of weapons but I do not know how they are attached to a AK.  I guess I thought that you could just unscrew the butt stock and replace it with a folder.  Like M1 carbines etc.  griffy
