I have a SAR-1 where the rear pin holding the gas block is almost flush with the bottom of the block. Is this a stress point or do the pins simply keep the block from rotating?

The pins keep it from rotating and sliding, but it'll never be under the 8-10 tons of force to overcome the press fit and stress the pins.
