I just got my first AK, a Vector underfolder. Does anyone know what the basic country of origin it is ie romy, polish etc. It appears to have stamped receiver, if that matters. Also does it most likely have a chrome bore and chamber? Any advice on keeping the stock from getting wobbly over time or is that inevitable(spelling?).

I think your Vector is Polish ... but if I'm wrong somebody will correct me very soon.

It's chrome lined.

The underfolder stock is of course somewhat wobbly by nature. The side-to-side wobble can be tightened up very easily though; the up-and-down wobble you're pretty much stuck with - "get used to it" is the remedy.

I've never had a Vector, but I'd like to. Congrats!!

EDIT: Actually,  www.vectorarms.com/myweb2/guns/AK_rifles.htm says "Hungarian and/or Polish parts". Somebody smarter than me will elaborate soon I'm sure.

Congrats on your Vector underfolder AK.   I also have one and its a great solid rifle.

Per Vector, the parts are Polish/Hungarian and yes the barrel is chrome lined.

I've only had mine for about 6 months and have less then 1k rounds through it but haven't noticed any more wobble in the stock compared to when it was new.

You might consider doing this to make your shooting abit more comfortable.  It's the best 5 dollar upgrade you can do to your gun.  All you need is some paracord and a lighter.

Awhile ago I saw someone here post a link on how to tighten a underfolder stock.  I'm sure someone will be along soon with that link.

You will be amazed on how accurate it is and mine was ready to go and needed no adjustment to the sights.

Congrats!

EDIT:  post pics!

My Vector UF is an awesome rifle.  You're going to like yours!  Mine has supplanted both of my ARs as my go-to rifle!  Didn't even have to adjust the sights.

Congratulations, but do one thing, make sure there are no laws like we have here in Connecticut on what we can have and have not. If you live in a truly "free" state, you're golden. Enjoy!!

My first AK was a converted ,223 Saiga> It had the trigger group moved forward, with the pistol grip where it should be, and is truly a Russian Ak-100 series rifle. I do have pics somewhere . It is sweet.
