Well, I built this rifle last November and finally got it finished up. I would like to thank everyone on this site for all of the help that they have been. The rifle is a DPHarms Romanian kit on a Eubanks Gen II receiver. I stripped the stock and bleached it out. Then I put four coats of Bombay Mahanogy stain on it, lightly buffing with steel wool. Presently the rifle is finished with black appliance epoxy and cooked. I did have problems with the back part of the reciever getting a little warm and cooking the paint off. I plan to Gunkote it sometime in the future. I also sanded the finish off of the bolt carrier for something a little different. She does run well, I ran a few mags through it and no problems (that is after I changed the disconnector spring). Here are some pictures. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m166/76239akm/P9230070.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m166/76239akm/P9230073.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m166/76239akm/P9230075.jpg |

Looks good, My first was a Rommy kit as well. I would lose the brake and put the correct slant brake on, but that is merely my preference, if you are happy that it's all good. I did mine in Gunkote and it is a remarkable finish. Very consistant color and texture, and durable as hell to boot. |
I baked it in the oven (Make sure wife is out for the day). I was able to fit the barreled receiver in there at an angle, and the rest of the metal parts on a cookie sheet. Follow instructions and pre-heat the parts too. |
