I am looking for a good place to buy a cheap (new or used) SAR-3. Any help is appreciated.

Just keep checking the EE boards. I frequently see them for sale there.

I was looking myself for a little while, the cheapest I found an actual SAR-3 for was 475 on gunbroker. Then I talked to a couple people and found out that WASR-3's are being sold by Century Arms, I contacted my FFL and he got quoted around 330 or so for the gun with 1 30 mag and 1 10 mag. I had him order one, hopefully it's in good shape. I got lucky with a WASR-10 I bought a while ago, so I'm willing to take a chance.

You will not find new SAR-3's as they have not been imported since around 2004. You just have to keep your eyes open for used ones, and $450+ depending on accessories is typical.
