Ok, this is going to sound weird. As you might know, I'm from Taiwan and am in the USA for study. Back home, it's illegal to own a real firearm, so I am forced to collect only toy and replica firearms. The AK toys I do have are quite close to the real thing, made of steel, and can accept some real parts. My question is, what type of side folding stock has the smallest part that goes into the reciever? Marked on picture to show what I'm talking about. Also, is it possible to have one of these stocks function if that part was cut off along with everything that goes into the receiver? http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a243/gunrunnerssecretstash/romanianfolder.jpg Thanks |

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a243/gunrunnerssecretstash/akinside.jpg This is what the back of my toy gun looks like. I can cut off the rectangular protrusion under the rear tang on the trunnion, but even if I did that, there still isn't much space inside. This is because there needs to be room for the gray thing, which is a mechanism to shoot little plastic pellets. |
| That stock looks just like the folder on my Tantal. If you remove what you've circled, I don't think it will work. You see the lever sticking out to the right, near the area you circled? That is what latches the folder in place. It also sticks out to the left. There is sort of a sheet metal wedge that goes in under the tang, it has a spring made into it. If you cut off the circled portion, you'll be removing the lever and part (most) of the spring wedge thing. |
