[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Muzzle nut timing

Does anyone have or make peel washers to fit over the muzzle threads on a SAM-7 (thick) barrel? I'd like to tighten the fit on two muzzle nuts on a couple of rifles and don't want to file the nuts down. I've heard that AR peel washers can be opened up a little and will work. Does anyone have any experience with this?

You can use a peel washer, you have to use a half round needle file to open it up enough to fit over the threads. I've done several, sometimes you need to file down the flat side too to get the timing right. It takes a while but it works great ...

Thanks. At least I know it will work now. Where can I get a couple of the peel washers?
