I have a completed gun from B-West.  I am not an AK-47 expert, but I have heard/read there were problems with the receivers from B-West before they got shut down.  The question I have is were there problems with the receivers of competed guns?  How can I tell if I have a good one or bad one (it has only had about 200 rounds through it)?

What does it say on the bottom of the receiver in front of the magwell?

If its Imported by Bwest you should be ok.  If it was made in the US for/by Bwest it could cause you some grief.

Soft metal, ejectors can butter soft, fcg holes can oval out, IF you have one of those.

Worst case, shoot it till it wears, get a new receiver and rebuild.

I am in California and the gun is at home in Michigan (I am here for medical reasons).  My wife will have the gun in hand tomorrow morning and look at the receiver.  Here is what I remember.  I purchased the guns from a wholesaler who had obtained them from B-West, the wholesaler told me the guns were "Norinco" less receiver and that the receivers were made in AZ by B-West.

This purchase was made in the early 90's

The gun has no problems at all at this time, but there has been less than 250 rounds shot through it.  If there is a good smith to send it to, I would like to get it squared away right away (provided it is one that has issues).  Anyone out there (good and legit) that could square this gun away?

The reciever was not heat treated. Within a very few rounds the pin holes will start to wallow out.

Heat treating the reciever is all that is needed. There was a reputable smith doing this service for about $40 on a stripped reciever a couple of years ago but I don't remember who it was.

If anyone out there can give me a name/phone number I would love to get this firearm squared away.  Thanks for all the input thus far.

My wife stated there was stamping on the underside of the gun near the magazine well.  She stated it said, "B-West, Ak47S, 7.62 X39, made in USA.

Don't know if this will help or not.  Best of luck.
