HI,
I don't know if this has been discussed, but I recently bought a Romanian WASR-10 and didn't notice when I bought it that the bore is off center to the barrel. Has anyone ever seen or had something like this? Will it effect the accuracy of the rifle? I checked the barrel with my calipers and the barrel is .110 on the thinner side and .129 on the thicker side. What are you thoughts?

Thanks,
Kirk

I bought a Yugo fixed kit. Cleaned it built it. Went to the range and had to push front sight almost out one side of the front sight housing. Checked out and found that same problem you have. Bore not centered. I ended up buying a krebs adjustable rear sight brought the front sight in alittle and adjusted at the rear. Shoots good but after barrel warms up point of aim changes to 1 side by about 3 inches. Adjusted again so cold barrel hits alittle off to the other side and once barrel has warmed it's right were i want it. I also have a Yugo UF that is not built yet, bore is centered, hopefully this one will be more like my Polish. Now that's a nice rifle. I am sure someone else will add to this

I don't think he's talking about a canted front sight, am I correct?

It looks like from the picture one side of the bore is thicker than the other.

it's non-Concentric, the bore hole was drilled of center so it's always going to shoot to the side, take it back.

I highlighed and underlined the problem.

As long as the bore itself is straight and the crown is clean, no biggie.

Sure it wont be a problem but his question was will it affect accuracy... Anwser: YES

Go shoot it and see how it shoots. Could be a tack driver.

What A Shitty Rifle

It just might shoot well. But I wouldn't bet on it.

I'd take it back.

I would let the owner/manager of the store you bought it from know about it, and ask him if you shoot it if he will still take it back if it dosen't shoot straight.

Never seen anything like that.

If you look at the tool marks on it, they are concentric with the bore. Is it possible just the part where they turned the threads off the end of the barrel is like that?

Just curious,

Is the bore centered on the barrel too or is it off center also?

I've seen that before, even on SAR1s.

The reason the Romanians bore the bbl off center, is to compensate for canted sights..

Century will probably just hit it with a big mallet to straighten it & resell it.

I had one on my Saiga .223. I could go into it, but to be blunt: Life's too short to settle for a fubared barrel. Get rid of it and buy a good one. You can get a Romy G kit and replace the barrel assy with a simple press and pin job (headspace too).

You kept the receipt right? Was sale final? Take it back...
