yea i got my mak90 back from the smith today. Had the barrel cut and now its 16.5" total with a ak74 style break. the galil handguard is gone this week or next, and im goin to modify a romy pistol grip lower to fit it if possible, I dont like the galil front hand guard. I would suggest anyone lookin at them, handle one before you buy them. Also my duracoat should be here anytime now.

yea ill get hammered by the die hards, but oh well, its my gun and i like it, except for the damn handguard, and the railed cover, which are both gettin replaced when the stuff gets here. ultimak gas tube, and standard reciever cover will be on it next week. i am gettin another mak90, and it will get chinese wood,  this is a gun that has been thru a few configurations and im just toying with ideas, its fun to shoot. |
i want to see if i can shape and sand it to a comfortable shape, and it will be duracoated black. unless i can find a handguard i like that is synthetic. |

here it is without the handguard and the railed cover this is exactly how it is sitting now, and has been, most of the day and will probably all week, until i get my stuff in. i am with most of you guys i dont like the railed reciever cover and i dont like the handguard, i do however love the stock. any suggestions on a front handguard that will look right and be comfortable i prefer something that feels good than looks good, sorry but im a true believer in function over form

| I DO have to ask, what was the point of removing the FSB and welding on a fake AK-74 break? And what's with that clamp-on-the-gas-block front site? I like it when people take AKs and make modern 'tactical' (I know, I hate that word, and like 'match grade' it really dosen't mean anything) weapons based on the proven basic weapon, but these two mods have me baffled. |
1. the 74 style break IMO is the best break you can get for an AK rifle. and the barrel was shortened because i wanted something with a 16-17" barrel 2. the site block i picked up a while back after i removed the original
yes, the railed reciever covers are SHIT, i would advise against buying them to anyone, infact if you want one i will sell you this one dirt cheap. thanks for the comments, the site removal idea might look ok, i can look at that after i get the ultimak in. and i will look into the tdi handguards thanks. |
