I need some cash, so I have started to put gear on the EE and other places.
I have gotten a few nibbles, but most have been from countries like Poland and Italy.
I have bought a ton of stuff over the internet and here at the EE, but  I have  sold just a few things, and never overseas.

Does anyone have any advice on selling overseas?
For instance I know that there have been many scams by buyers using Western Union, so I will avoid them for payment, but should I accept American Express Traveller's Checque's?
If not, what do you accept? What about shipping? UPS, Fedex, or USPS?

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.
Alex

ETA: I know that  the subject is not AK related, but the dark side is where I frequent, and I will be selling some AK goodies!

Make sure you check on the legality of shipping that stuff out...  I know the state dept. restricts sending certain items overseas such as weapons parts or accessories.  Even when I was deployed I couldn't get ARMS gear sent to my APO.  I'm sure someone else will come along to correct me if I'm wrong though...

Thanks for the heads up, and I will be careful on selling that type of gear, but most of what I will be selling will be things like SPEAR ELCS,  Ecotat/ Wiggy's sleep systems, survival gear, etc.
More high speed field gear than weapons parts.
Is that kind of gear restricted as well?

Sounds like you raided an Special Forces Battalion's Gear warehouse of things they are getting rid of...

Stuff should be legal to send out, but technically it could also be declared Military equipment and require export permits.

For overseas buyers, Paypal is the way to go.....Shipping, USPS is the cheapest. UPS and all the others will be close to $100+

I sell lots of stuff on the 'bay.  I only use USPS to send goods overseas.  Fedex will not always collect the customs fees and then you will get jammed with the cost.  I want them to pay via Payapl,  I know they are the morons who don't like guns or parts but there ways to get around that.  Check Paypal's policy on chargebacks as it pertains to selling overseas.  If you accept any type of check DO NOT SEND THE ITEM until it clears your bank.  Many scams out there.  Also so not accept any type of check that is for over the amount of the item you are selling, bad guys want you to send them the extra money back to them.  This is a huge scam and you will not get a penny back from them.  Remember you cannot insure items that leave the country.  Let your buyers know this.  It is a risk that they should know about.   Now get out there and make some $$
