| Damn. I bought an Armory AK yesterday with a plum stock. Heard they were decent. I already have an Arsenal Carbine so the bar has been set high. I got home and pulled it from the box. The tag I saw on the trigger guard had its serial number and underneath said " US, needs trigger assembly". Now I'm thinking great, did the US compliant trigger get put in? I looked inside and it looks new but doesn't have "US" stamped on it anywhere. I don't know if it does anyway. Anyway to tell if it is US? Then I get out the Bulgarian mag that comes with it. It was sealed in plastic along with the cleaning rod handle tool. THE WHOLE FLOORPLATE IS bent/creased about 30 degrees. Imagine taking off the floorplate, and pinching the sides with your thumb and forefinger until the sides were bent up about 30 degrees. What the.......? Now here is the shitty part. I tried a Arsenal Bulgarian waffle mag with th "10" on it. It went in with a little more force than I have had to do with my Arsenal AK. IT WOULDN'T COME OUT. I struggled with it for an hour. I took the mag apart while in the gun and broke down the gun as far as possible. I was considering getting my dremel out and trying to cut out the mag but figured I would probably miss up the gun. I could see the back of the mag hitting the pin right behind the mag well. It wouldn't quite let the mag angle out from the well. It was like the pin was slightly too close or the mag was a little to tall above the follower. Anyway, lubed up everything and finally got it out with brute force. Tried a steel mag after, it goes in about once every 15 tries. When it does go in it slides in real easy. Its like there is no forgiveness in putting it in. Believe me I know how to put a mag in a gun. Any ideas? Did my gun get crushed or something? I think I will try and take it back tomorrow for a replacement, to many questions with the gun. |
