I have a birthday comming in a few months and was going to get a new gun. I want a Yugo underfolder, one with a US reciever and barrel, because I like the folding stock/pistol grip style/grenade shutoff valve for launching grenades. However, I want a SVT-40 too. I already have an SVT-40, and also have a Polytech AKS-762, but I want another for some reason. The SVTs are truely great rifles. However, the Yugos are quite the oddball and would have a cool factor to them. Any idea what to get? |

If I got a belt-fed... well then I would be rich, because they run well over a thousand... and it would probably be an RPD. I have tons of 7.62x39mm, and besides, a 1919? .30-06 ammo is around $0.40 a pop for non corrosive! Even the highest costing Wolf 7.62x39mm is only around $0.20 a round, half the cost of '06. I DO have over 300 rounds of NC .30-06 because I plan on getting a Garand, but that is a totally different story... The SVT-40... how does that suck? I can see how some people would not like the folder on the Yugo, but the '40 is dang near perfect. Over a pound lighter than the 91/30, easy to clean (as long as you aren't a 14 year old Soviet soldier using corrosive), awesome looking, no recoil, accurate, and if you have any reliability problems just adjust the gas system. If you don't have a tool, dissasemble the gas system and pop the gas adjuster out, then put it back in on the setting you want. Easy to do. As far as the 54 area goes... a Romanian built PSL, a 1941 SVT-40, two M-38s (one unrefurbished), a Hungarian M-44 and a Tula Hex 91/30 fit the bill. I do not know why, but I really like the SVT-40. |

den just kap da nigguhs whose gots da uther gunz and jack tha shi' off em. bust a fo'ty g. sorry i had to do it.  seriously though, you can't go wrong with any of them as far as i see. even the TEC as far as im concerned, im sure at least itd be fun to shoot. or go out in real ARFCOM style and buy them all
