Picked up a Maadi that had a missing gas tube lock. The dude had a bolt in place that he said worked fine. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but i'd like to replace the bolt with a proper locking arm.

Can this be replaced without replacing the whole block?

That is so ghetto. Try K-var.

I don't think it's "so ghetto" as much as it is "so AK47".

Hell, shit like that is part of the beauty of the AK system.

Anyway, does anyone know exactly what it takes to replace the tube lever? Does it just "pop in" or is there more to it?

It slides through, then while you hold in it tight the end is peened open to lock it in place. WIth a vice and some blocks and spacers should be no problem to do.

In Africa they use the finger bones of their vanquished enemies.

The Maadi MISR-10 that I got last week has a VERY stiff lever/lock, I actually had to drag out pliers to open it and the hammer to get it closed again.
