Anyone gotten or have any experience with the .22lr ak's that SOG is selling.
I ordered one and don't really know what to expect.

heard some had feeding problems, but that might be another variant than the SOG one

i would get one if high cap mags were available

Dunhams Sporting goods has them but at the same price as a WASR 10....

No thanks I'll pass..even with hicaps...

I have an AKT-98 (Romanian .22 caliber training rifle) that I purchased from SOG. It's a great little gun and a lot of fun. I use CCI Velocitors in mine and haven't had any problems. Since it operates on blowback only, you will need to use hot loads. Other than that, it cheap to shoot and a lot of fun.

I have a Romanian trainer from centerfire. I also use the Velocitor ammo, and it works fine. SOG has extra mags available for around $20, but they only hold 10 rounds. I bought two from them.

Like mine, groups string a bit vertically but the 1x6 pattern at 50yds may be the bulk ammo. Wally World milk carton Federal has been fine for it. They take a few hundred rounds to smooth in, and get extra mags while you can as they are a bit unique.

Widening the mag well at the center, and collaring a 74 mag about the 10/22 mag, may be the key to hicaps for these.

Yeah, I just got one from CFS and got to try it out at a shoot Saturday. Ditto on the Federal bulk. Had a few FTE's, but it's still not broke in, probably had 150-200rnds through it.

Sweet, but needs bigger mags. That thumbhole stock has to go too.

It's a proprietary mag. I got my spares from SOG when I ordered the rifle.
