Now you did it! I ended up with my 1st AK kit. It is an AMD 65 kit. It came with a flat plate. Should I build this or buy a 100% receiver?

sweet, if you only do 1 i'd get a 100% receiver, if you end up doing about 3 or more that would help justify the extra tooling cost weather time or effert. it's a good feeling to build your own gun from a flat though. at least if you get it right

For your first, I'd recomend a 100 percent receiver.

I recomend you sell it to me
and since it's your first....Buy a made reciver...with the trigger guard attached...

I wouldnt recommend a AMD for your first build. I would go with something like a Romanian. I have a Romanian kit that I would do a even trade for

ETA Just kidding hold on to that kit & go with a 100% receiver

.....BUT...how`s a guy gonna learn?...here`s another thought......buy a pre bent ,follow the plan carefully.....take your time and be damn proud at the finish........no?
