Aren't those 2 different rifle types.

Saiga 7.62x39, .223, .308, 12 GA , 20GA, .410?

VEPR  7.62x39, .308, .223, 5.45x39mm

The Vepr and Saiga are two different rifles, various calibers

223/556
7.62x39
308
5.45
and some european calibers that have yet to be imported

I saw some Saiga's at a recent gunshow. I was very impressed!
Their 16" barrelled 7.62x39 rifle was just $239.
But what really caught my eye was the 20" barrelled .308 rifle with scope mount for $310. Very cool!
They make some very nice guns for  the money.

I bought two of the 16" 7.62x39 carbines for $150 each a few years ago.   Still have one that I converted to a wanna-be AK-104
Also bought a Saiga 12 19" barrel for $269, still have it.

I have two '39's Saigas I bought for $150 as well, the tacked conversion thread shows the fate of one of them

I have an unconverted 223 for $250 as well as a long barrel wood stocked 308 for $300

For the money, I don't think you could buy a better firearm, in any of the calibers offered.

The Vepr is on the other end of the AK price acale though, and sometimes I doubt wether it is double the gun for double the money.
