My young nephew is a Marine armorer (I am beating chest and wiping away tears as I write this).

He recently sent these pics of weapons captured in the subject conflicts. No range-daisies here, these are clearly some high-mileage pieces from the real-death world of armed conflict, and I bet could tell some stories indeed.

Several AK configs, a Krink and SKS, RPG, and whatever-the-hell that last monster is.

Comments/insights welcomed. Enjoy!

awesome set of photos.  That last one looks like a Russian PK machinegun.
Lots of Chinese Polytech/Norinco.  Next time you talk to him, can you ask whether those Chinese AK are marked Norinco or Polytech or other brand names??

The PKM is Yugoslavian.

Actually, the DDR AK74 might have been a US Mil peice at one time.... The US Military uses them as training aids..Its by far the most common AK74 in the Military system, so much so that it might be considered the Standard A AK74..  German Gov't gave them to the US Mil after the wall fell.

Too bad they can't take that Chinese AK with the underfolder bayonet, cut the barrel off in front of the gas block, and send it to me!

Very cool stuff

The stock in the first picture is interesting as well as the handguards in the 3rd picture.

That krink is sexy

Anyone know any background info on the underfolder with black furniture?

Ive seen one like that before in one of Lumpy196's gun pic posts. It was hanging in a gun shop somewhere in Iraq, except this one was polished to mirror finish. Chrome looking almost. It's obviously chinese, Smooth chinese undefolder struts, Chinese rivet patter, vented gas tube. Weird black furniture with the designs on it, looks like it was some sort of Show/Parade rifle at one point.

Anyone know what it is?

Interesting... Is that first one a Yugo M-76 with AK grip and bubba lightweight stock?

Is it interesting to see how many differnt varities of weapons our guys are up against.  Would be nice if he could bring home a few parts for further study

Its interesting to note that on all but one of the guns, the selector is on "Full auto".

This goes to show why they shoot so much and hit so little. Glad they are clueless, it makes it easier for our brave guys over there. You are right to be proud of your nephew.
