I'm thinking of buying an SA M-7 SF. I really want a AK in 7.62x39, but Arsenal doesn't have any stamped models available att. Is the quality of the milled receiver worth the extra money? Also, what is the weight difference between a stamped and milled receiver? Does anyone know when Arsenal will make the stamped 7.62x39 available? I also have an urge to get an SLR 105 A1, but ammo availability and stocking up on another caliber can be problematic. However, for the cost of an SA M-7 SF I could get an SLR 105 A1 and a stamped SLR-107 A1R. What do you guys think? |

I feel it is worth it. Quality all the way in my experience so far. Heavier, but to me feels much more like a quality rifle than the stamped rifles I have dealt with. However, I guess all the AK's I have ever handled just shoot and shoot and shoot, so to say the cheaper ones weren't quality would be wrong. I also think that if (perish the thought) you ever have to sell one, you will get your money out of an Arsenal to a much greater extent. My .02 Doc |

I had an AK74 no long ago. It was a super gun. I loved the cheap magazines and how well it shot. But I HATED running down 5.45x39. Even then the good stuff (Barnaul) was nearly impossible to find. That being said, I would pass on the SLR 105. The SA M-7 SF is great if you have the money. I also like the Classic model. If you wanted to save a little cash you might consider the SA M-7A1. Lastly, if you have an AR and already stock 223, you might give the SA M-5 consideration. |
| Maybe contact Jensen Arms to see if they have any or have any on the way. |
I'd get it. The only new one I found when looking for mine was a $1350 on line and a local guy has one for $1400 plus tax Of course for $1150 you could get a SA M7 SFC |
