Good choice , I have one , it was my first AK also.
Basically , the first thing to do is to get rid of the Thumbhole stock.
I have left my SLR95 in original form to date , as I later bought an ArsenalInc. SAm7 carbine.
But most people like to go with the conventional and more correct buttstock and pistol grip.
You can also put a regular flash hider or brake on it, but this is more complicated insofar as parts needed.
If you have the model with the "big" muzzlebrake and wish to keep it , you will need
6 US mfg. parts in order to Legally use a regular buttstock and pistol grip.
If your rifle has a bare muzzle - you only need 5.
Most people use some of the following US made parts........
Hammer
trigger
disconnecter
gas piston
buttstock
pistol grip
handguards (these = 1 US part)
magazine floorplates
........
The simplest way to go is a complete US stock set , and a US fire control group (hammer trigger disconnect)
This will give you 6 parts and you can keep the muzzlebrake.
Or you can install a US made brake or flashhider , and drop one part.
In order to put a regular buttstock on - you have to know if your slr95 has both a top and bottom tang.
(the place the stock screws attach to)
When you take off the thumbhole you will see this easily.
If your rifle only has 1 tang - you will need to install the second one.
