Hi guys,

I was just wondering, what AK variant is the next step up from the WASR-10 pricewise?

I am looking into purchasing an AK and am a bit scared from all the WASR bashing.

Save your money and get an Arsenal or a VEPR there's no reason to even mess with the other two.  SAR-1's are nice guns I owned one but if you want a quality Ak go with the afore mentioned models you want have any problems with canted sights or any other inherent probelsm that Century guns have.  If I could go back thats what I would have done.  Now I'm having one built.  That's just my .02.

+1, VEPR. Also, for around $350 you could get a MAK90, which is the best AK out there for the money. Just keep in mind at some point you will want to convert it to a standard stock set.

Romy QC is better than the imports of 1999-2000 when the flood really got going, and hand picks are still good values.

Without specific appearance goals stated, just choose between the normal looking SAM7 or unusual looking but great shooting VEPR K for about $100 less.
