If you have a red dot sight mounted on your Ultimak how do you like it?

Has it been sturdy?  Has the zero moved or shifted?

I don't have one, but shot with a guy who does, an ultimake and either an EOtech or a Trijicon is the best of both worlds for an AK. It consistently hit soda cans at 100 yards no problem.

Where you able to keep both eyes open?

I use one with an Arms mounted reflex II.  I constantly take it off and on for my dad to use.  My dad's eyesight requires some sort of big parallax-free point of reference to shoot anymore.

The ultimak was hard to get on and is very stable on my gun off of the under handguard.   A friend of mine used JB weld to form fit his a bit with the under handguard.  Although the sight does not have to be very big to work, it really needs to be as low as possible in terms of profile for use.  I think a Dr. Optic would be the best or a low profile 25mm red dot.  The reflex II that I use is about a 1/2 inch too high but my Dad likes it because of the big 12.5 MOA triangel.

I have one with an Ultradot mounted on it.  The mount itself is a bit of a pain to install and may require some sanding of the hand guard, but is rock solid once installed.  I can see my iron sights through the red dot with the 1" sight and the fairly low rise rings that came witht he Ultradot.   Highly recomended mount!

Anyone use an Ultimak mount for a Mini 14?

I want to get one and an AimPoint, and also a Folding stock.  I think that would be a good SHTF gun.

I bought a used SLR95 that had one already mounted on it.
Put a Aimpoint ML2 on and never have I had any trouble.

I love it!
