Someone has a Chinese 7.62x39mm rifle 386 series with milled receiver scope & bipod for $400 . Could it be anything other than an AK and is $400 a good deal? Thanks for any help. |
I've read that 386 is the arsenal code for Polytech - Bejing Arsenal Complex, but I've also seen pics of a MAK-90 with a 386 code stamp. |
| 386 in an oval is PolyTech only. Norinco made the Hunter. It could be a Mak 90 which the $400 is a normal price for, even milled. If its anything else, like a Legend definately buy it for $400, that would be a steal! Basically, if it has a thumbhole stock, it would be an OK deal. If its got a pistol grip its a steal. But depending on the scope (milled dont have scope rails) it sounds like a Mak. Can you get pics? |

I have a call into the person selling it but no reply yet. The description in my first post is all I currently have to go by. It would be nice if it were a "Legend" but I dont think I could be that lucky. I had a "Legend" 20 or so years ago that I traded for the old style Bullpup AK (type 86 ) I think , still kicking myself in the ass for getting rid of that one since there were very few imported. |
