I read on another forum that the 5.45 VEPRs have a feed ramp issue that can cause malfunctions.  This is the first negative report I've read on VEPRs reliability.  Most of the gripes are about the cosmetics or weight, never the functioning or accuracy of the rifles.  I'd like some feedback from some 5.45 VEPR owners cause I held one at a recent gunshow and I've had a craving for one since then that won't seem to go away.  Thanks in advance.

I know you hate for posting and I do not have one. However I would ask in the Vepr forums you might get a faster answere there. To be honest I do not have a lot of use for that round. I can get .223, 7.62x39 and .308 a lot more easy. I personaly would look into one of the other three calibers. If you liked the feel of the 5.45 you should like the feel of the .223 Vepr K.

I had one and never had a single problem with it. My only complaint was the weight.

The weight actually can be an added benefit in reducing an already low recoiling cartridge.

The only reason I sold it was because I wanted something with the traditional AK appearance.

I have sold dozens of Veprs this year and had ZERO reports of any problems with the 5.45's. And if you do, RA will make it right. Every gun manufacturer has a gun that shows and issue every once in a while. Chances are that the guy who had this one you read about actually had a mag issue and not a gun issue. But either way RA will make sure your gun works right if you contact them (providing you get a gun that has an issue of some kind which I doubt you will)

Veprs are FINE rifles but 5.45 x 39 can be hard to come by.

That sucks.  Will your new gun have a brake or a flash supp. on it?  Also, if I may ask what was the price of it out the door?
